It's my BIRTHDAY!!

Waking up on her FIRST birthday!! Happy girl!!

Showing us that she is ONE now! ♥
While hastily trying to get everything ready to take to Grandma's for Grace's party, I gave her a box of Nerds to play with...little did I know she could open them...
Eating Nerds on her birthday! She, of course, loved them...though she obviously isn't sure if she is supposed to have them(thus the rotten face)!

Every ONE year old must have a smash cake!! My favorite part of the first birthday is watching the reaction to the cake! Grace did not disappoint(though I'm not surprised, the girl LOVES food!) Take a look...these are sure to bring a smile to anyone's face!

I feel certain she was wondering why she was sitting in her chair while everyone stood around and stared at her!
A little taste...mmm
...and then she dug right in!
She literally grabbed the whole cake and brought it to her mouth!
She ate a LOT of cake!!
Still going...
...and going...
Finally...slowing down!
What a SWEET birthday our SWEET♥ had!

The Birthday Girl!

The poor sweet girl had no idea that all the celebration was for her...all she knew was there was a whole lot of commotion and people around!

She looked so pretty in her "sherbet" colored tutu! And she loved the "lollipops" that Daddy made for her birthday decoration!
I made a photo prop tutu for someone about a month before Grace's birthday in these colors and it was by far the prettiest combo I had made, so I knew it had to be the colors of Grace's 1st birthday tutu. Not to mention the colors fit the theme perfectly!

Just a few friends that helped make Grace's birthday party a little sweeter!

Megan(and her mommy, Shannon) is just 5 weeks younger than Grace!
Rory is exactly 2 months older than Grace and lives just 3 doors down!
The kid table + Tim! Tyler is on the end, Elizabeth is to his right, Benjamin to his left and Noah and Katherine chowing down on the end of the table! We were so happy to have a some good friends to celebrate with!

Life of the party!

Benjamin is the type that is willing to do anything to make others laugh...thus the life of the party! Benjamin entertained himself and everyone for quite some time with these inflatable tires!

Grace wasn't that into the most 1 year olds, she loved the paper and bags more!

Love this one of Gracie and her Daddy...she is truly a daddy's girl!

Thought this was funny of the big boys playing with a baby toy!

Have a SWEET party!

The Invite!

The invitation that never happened...I was sooooooo excited to plan a girly(read: PINK) party for my girl! I started working on the invitation months before, then I was sick and it all fell apart...I pulled the party off, but being that it was a mere week after surgery and two after hospitalization, I just wasn't sure if it would happen! It did and it was fun(those pics will come soon!) But I finished the invitation for the blog...just because...just because I figured the work shouldn't be wasted! Here it is! I'm pretty proud of it!! :)

Last day of Kindergarten!

Noah's last day of kindergarten fell on Grace's 1st it made for an emotional kind of day for mama! I don't even feel like Noah should be old enough to go to school, much less have completed one whole year already! Noah was very timid to start kindergarten. Now, he is reading books and counting money, adding and carrying, learning to borrow in subtraction! He writes sentences and loves to learn(most of the time)!
All that said...being the neurotic mother I am about pictures, I looked up the pics of his first day of kindergarten and washed the shirt that morning so that he could wear it to school the last day!! I love that it shows how much he changed in both attitude and physical growth! If you want to read about his first day of school, go here!

Haircut & Hilarity!

Joel says there is nothing worse than long, shaggy hair in the hot summer to make you sweat and just be hot in general...soooooo, I gave Benjamin a summer cut...of course he is still cute, but I teared up for sure with the first pass of those clippers...what can I say, the boy has gorgeous hair! It will be all grown back just in time for fall/winter, you better believe it!
Yesterday, Benjamin asked me where my van was and I told him Daddy drove it to work. He asked, "where my truck?' and I said that I didn't know. We were in Joel's truck at the time and Benjamin said, "it right hewre. this my truck. we riding in it." Then another time later he referred to Daddy's truck as his truck. Today at supper I was putting Grace in her highchair and she said "dada" and I said "where is dada?" and Benjamin said, "right here, I daddy." I asked him about it and he said,  "I just kiddin'!" Laughed, and then said it again, "I just kiddin'!"

A few funny phrases:
"i wear tiny diapers" random comment at the dinner table(sorry, Bud, there ain't nothin' tiny about you!)
"AWESOME!" favorite descriptor!
"Well, I just..." he uses this anytime you ask him a question or when he falls, gets hurt, it's very funny, trust me!
"Tiny" and "HUGE" are two of his favorite words to use on a daily basis!
He wants to go to school...not with Noah, to "cowwege" with "Uncle Justin". We told him he has to go potty on the big boy potty to go to "cowwege" and he said, "I not" yet he still insists that he must go to "cowwege" with Uncle Justin!
